The lyrics were written after a dream and are presented from the perspective of a young girl expressing her sentiment toward passing away suddenly and how she wants to be remembered fondly and without sadness . The song is about making the most of whatever time you’re given, whether it’s two years or 20 years.

In the Pt 2, the girl thanks the lord for not taking her when she had that dream and those feelings, and that now that she has had the chance to live more of a life, and to find love, she wishes she has more time to savour those things. That those initial thoughts were very foolish.
