Empire of the sun: underrated gem

Today, I wanted to shine a spotlight on a band that, in my opinion, doesn't get nearly as much recognition as they deserve: Empire of the Sun.

Their music is like a hidden treasure trove of chill vibes and semi-catchy tunes that always manage to find their way to the top of my playlist. From the very first time I heard their ethereal sound, I was hooked. There's something magical about their music that transports you to another world.

Empire of the Sun has this unique ability to blend electronic beats, dreamy melodies, and a touch of the surreal into a perfect sonic concoction. It's the kind of music that's perfect for unwinding after a long day or getting lost in your thoughts during a peaceful evening.

Tracks like "Walking on a Dream" and "We Are the People" are not just songs; they're experiences. They've got this semi-catchy quality that's not overpowering but lingers in your mind, making you hit that repeat button again and again.

So, if you're looking to expand your music horizons and discover a band that's both underrated and a true gem, give Empire of the Sun a try. Trust me; your playlist will thank you later!
OK, so my first encounter with EOTS was their Walking on a Dream album cover.

I was into some mellow jazzy EDM stuff at the time and it was being displayed on the recommended shelf in my preferred genre section at the CD sell/trade store. And I was like WTF is this?🤔 Like I was looking at every single detail of the cover art thinking “oh it’s a movie sound track…” “It’s in the wrong section…” And the more I looked at it, I was like WTF kind of shitty movie is this?🤣

So then I listened to it and I was pleasantly surprised, still half confused it was some kinda sound track🤣 It had a very familiar synth pop sound and I was immediately comfortable with the groove and the tempo but still completely unexpected. So I ended up trading in a bunch of discs, enough to trade for this brand new CD. I probably still have it in some box downstairs 😆
