Monarchs of musical genres
It’s the common consensus that Elvis Presley was the king of rock and roll. Some other genres were pretty indisputably kings and queens of their genres too. Michael Jackson was the king of pop, Aretha Franklin was the queen of soul, B. B. King was the king of the blues, etc.
Other genres aren’t so clear though. Let’s discuss who the kings/queens of other genres are/were, or at least should be. Is there a king or queen of jazz? Classical? Hip hop? Country? If so, who are/were they?
