Too young to know…

@cherokeepatti I grew up mostly in the 80s having never even heard his name till she starting talking about her abuse later on. I had always thought Tina was a new stand alone 80s artist. I remember What’s Love Got to do With it being ultra popular. But I had never heard of Ike. Then my mom told me she had been a singer since way back and I remember looking at her from back then and thinking she looked so different and I kind of liked her spiky hair. I didn’t even know she had been married.

And no one’s heard of him since less you count his death.

@DoubleRings The subject came up on Arsenio Hall’s show about Ike being abusive to Tina. Arsenio got a look on his face and said Tina could take care of herself and that Ike was not abusive to her. I don’t know what he witnessed but he had been around both of them.

@cherokeepatti well that’s interesting. Cause there’s an interview of arsenio interviewing Ike and he admits to having hit Tina! Arsenio said something like “I know Tina isn’t the easiest person to get along with but what was it like working with her?” (Or something to that effect) Ike said “she was married to me for 18 years so she must have liked a little beating every once in while”
