“I Only Want to Be with You” – Dusty Springfield

[media=https://youtu.be/M8agr-i4sl4]
“I Only Want to Be with You” (1963) is the first solo single released by Dusty Springfield. It was a hit for the British singer, reaching #4 in the UK, #6 in Australia, #7 in Ireland and New Zealand, and #12 in the US.

She went on to record a number of other hit songs in the 1960s, including “Wishin’ and Hopin’”, “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”, “All I See Is You”, "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself", “Son of a Preacher Man”, and my personal favorite, “The Look of Love”.

Dusty Springfield passed away in 1999 and is remembered as a cultural icon of the “Swinging Sixties”, an “instantly recognizable celebrity” who “epitomized the sound and style of the era”. She was an inductee in the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the UK Music Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame. Springfield has also been included on lists of the greatest female artists and the greatest singers of all time. Her album, Dusty in Memphis, is considered by some to be among the best albums ever made.
