How do you feel about progressive music???

For me, music is like oxygen. And I am convinced that when listening to progressive music, you can not only cheer yourself up, but also radically improve your life. What do you say????????????

I am not real sure what makes a style "progressive"

Like supposedly progressive rock is Dave Matthews and prog metal is Dream Theater or Fate's warning. Dream Theater has the speed of metal but isn't quite true metal.

To me though, progressive "rock" just seems like a 90's and 00's version of what they called "Yacht Rock" which is songs like Hotel California or anything by Hall and Oates.

Maybe progressive music is popular stuff that isn't crap like rap, country, or annoying princess pop?

@CestManan Progressive music is a genre of music that is characterized by an experimental approach to composition, the use of complex musical structures and rhythms, and a high degree of musical technique. Progressive music usually has a strong emphasis on musical dynamics and melodiousness, as well as the use of various instruments and genre elements such as rock, jazz, classical, electronic, etc.
There is an incredible YouTube channel with progressive music, https://www.youtube.com/@theprogressivemusic
I recommend))

@Alehander that's a pretty nonsensical/ambiguous definition to be honest. All rock is inspired by jazz, blues, etc. Most any rock uses "electronic" elements. The majority of classic rock is more complex & melodious than the shit thats put out today. About every progression & riff that can be done on a guitar has already been done (everything is pretty much a copy of something earlier)
