England went to Mexico in 1970 as reigning champions. The were beaten 3-2 in the quarter finals by West Germany. They had a workd class group game against the champions to be , Brazil. ⚽

So many players on that team that are no longer with us , RIP

As a little Jewish English boy (I was 8 at the time) England we're reigning champions, Israel participated and the iconic Brazil won the tournament. What great memories
