“Show and Tell” – Al Wilson

On this day in 1974, soul singer Al Wilson’s cover of “Show and Tell” (it was first recorded by Johnny Mathis) reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was also a crossover hit for Wilson and made it to #3 on the Easy Listening chart and #10 on the Hot Soul Singles chart.

I remember when this song came out, dancing to it at one of the many house parties friends had.

His spectacular, powerful voice lends such beauty to these simple, loving lyrics, Rutterman. Thank you for this, one of my favorite Motown songs. Have a sweet Friday and an awesome weekend.
