It’s one of those songs that the artists brings a whole new dimension to it. Covers like that, are my favorites. They don’t necessarily beat the original (very hard to do, though occasionally a few have,) but they just bringing their own color and flavor to it. Has it’s own unique feel. I have dozens of examples of covers like this that actually compete a bit with the original.
