So I met the band Modern English today ("I Melt With You")

I was playing drums on a song for a friend of mine, who had booked time at the studio they used to record their latest album(I believe they finished recording it today). We got to say HI briefly on the way out. They were leaving in a Sprinter-type van. Nice guys!

One of my co-workers played rythym guitar with them for a little while. We all got passes to see them at Webster Hall.

Tears for Fears actually opened for them

@Slade Ah, ok, might have been the Roland-only TFF. I'm not a big authority on TFF, except that it takes them 9 years to make an album and have this Beatles/Beach Boys fixation that is rather in your face at times.

@NankerPhelge That was Quiet Riot. My name precedes them

@Slade Quiet Riot released their version of "Cum On Feel The Noize" in 1983. Slade did their original version (and got it to number one) in 1973. Here are the facts.

Why wasn't that song a hit? I thought it would have been. As indie/alternative bands go, it's not bad.

@NankerPhelge 82 was the year I saw Priest and Maiden in concert. Pretty awesome stuff. Truthfully, I like a bit of everything, so some 80s stuff is ok. The electronic Simmons drums sucked, though. I took a hard pass on them, because I knew they someday would be laughed at.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@uncalled4 Maiden did well that year, although I saw them later. I had a ticket to see Priest but I couldn't get transport to the venue (or rather, back home from it) so I had to sell it.

@NankerPhelge The one and only time I saw Clive Burr.
@uncalled4 no :( and i missed ed sheeran. i'd like to see a concert

@AliceinWonderland Haven't been to a concert in a year, partially because I work nights, but also because I'm usually playing. I usually enjoy live shows.
@uncalled4 i went to a tobymac concert earlier this year

Bloody hell, I had no idea they were still going! Fabulous that you met them.

That's awesome that you had that experience thank you for sharing.
