If musical genres such as technical death metal suddenly become the most popular type of music

Would that make it pop (popular) music?

And in that universe, what becomes of "pop" as we know it now? I think it would just become candy music
Hadn't really thought about this, but you know, I think you are right. It would become Pop, but candy sounds so much better.

@nonsensiclesnail I wonder how much different society would be in that world. Or how much society would change the face of metal.

(And candy makes me sick 😖)
@caPnAhab I do wonder in what ways music changes the world. Music certainly influences the individual, so it must affect entire societies. If you can narrow down the driving, main traits of every metal head you could probably see how it would change the world.

@nonsensiclesnail true, I think they would change society first. So speculative, interesting

What's a good example of that genre of music?

@Dino11 I guess this would be one

Pop as a label seems to adapt, at one time it meant Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, later on it could be Abba, Bread, hard to say. It’s tied as a label to what is selling, or being heard.
That would mean a lot of people were no longer listening to music. 😱

@bijouxbroussard I think I see a joke in there but I'm not sure (like technically dead). Is that what you meant?

I love jokes.... but I'm horrible with jokes lol
