Is It A Thumbs Up Or A Thumbs Down?

If the first opening 20-30 seconds of a jazz tune/piece or any musical piece doesn't grab my attention, it's a thumbs down for me. Also the "bridge" needs to be taking the music to another level, needs to have me swayin' back and forth, showin' the "stank face" and jumpin' up out of my seat. Or the "bridge" should be taking me mentally and spiritually to good places in my mind..

I'll generally listen to the entire intro, even if it doesn't appeal that much to me, but once the main part of the song kicks in, it does need to grab and hold my attention pretty quickly. Otherwise, I'll usually abandon the song without listening to it all the way through. Also, I agree with you about the bridge.
