Metallica,,

Ride The Lightning is and Always will be my favorite of All Time, but Master of Puppets is undoubtedly Metallica in their finest hour....

I was actually just reading this the other day. Metallica always reminds me of being a tween and seeing their videos on MTV when I still had a babysitter and wasn’t yet my and my sisters own babysitter. The good old days ☺️

@2cool4school oh yeah, i wasn't quite old enough to be that hardcore '81 to '83 crowd when they were first starting, but yes, "One" on MTV would have been '88 or '89 and then of course who doesn't know "The Black Album",, I'm the type that once i get ahold of something i love i have to know everything about it, so then it was back to the beginning, HOOKED

@SilkandLace2 me neither we must be pretty close in age. I liked knowing stuff about the music back then. I used to think it was funny Dave Mustain(sp?) of Megadeth was a little too wild with the drugs to join Metallica. I remember watching headbangers ball on mtv as well as 120 mins until I slipped into the grunge and alternative/indie music scene more. I’m old enough to remember too much. Still too young for Alzheimer’s lol.

@2cool4school Mustaine, you almost had it, he and Hetfield were close i think in wildness, at least according to Lars,, i Always like to think what would have happened if they wouldn't have kicked him out, but i think we got what we were supposed to get, though Megadeth has Always been underrated in my opinion, if that can even be said, LOL,

@SilkandLace2 I preferred MegaDeth myself. I liked their themes and their social commentary with songs like Peace Sells But Who’s Buying. As I got older I remember reconnecting with a friend that is no longer alive was a huge fan of Slayer and Pantera going all the way back to our middle school days. And many a day on snow was started with loud music at 6am to make sure that everyone was awake and aware to get first tracks or first chair. Good old days again.

@2cool4school oh gosh yeah, '88 through the 90's, Golden Era for me of all that, I'm not sure how Grunge killed Metal, cause a lot of my favorite Metal records came out in '91 especially, Pantera became the new Metallica in a way, Slayer were strong in the 90's i thought; as far as Metallica and Megadeth, Peace Sells is still their finest hour, and then if you stack the last 20 years of them versus the last 20 of Metallica, no contest, sorry Metallica, i just don't see apparently what everyone else sees in Death Magnetic and Hardwired, not to mention, how much more material Megadeth has released in the same span....
