Music is deeply related to math, and that's what makes it universal.
Music, by the way, is the math of the universe. Austrian composer Joseph Haydn clearly saw that connection when he wrote his masterwork oratorio "The Creation".

@helenS Interesting connection. I must admit I'd not seen it that way because maths was never my strong point, but I think I can understand your point.
