Gospel-influenced ballad about alienation and a plea to “let us live in peace”, released as a single by Elton John in 1970.

People sometimes say a piece of music is “underrated” when the evidence suggests otherwise. But in the case of “Border Song”, it does appear to be true. At least it was underappreciated in its time, failing to chart in many countries, including John’s native UK. In the US, the record only made it to #92 on the singles chart. It was a modest success in the Netherlands (#25) and Canada (#34).

I was watching a video bout kids living in free countries listening to ‘fake’ news and chanting war cries against that free country! When asked why they’re against their own country they said coz it was shown on TV news! 😒

I have never felt so shocked and appalled before…the only good thing is we’re aware and keeping our ears n eyes open.

@Vivaci I know, and it's sad and scary. Hopefully, these kids will eventually learn to tell the difference between bullshit propaganda and more realistic presentations of what's going on.

@Rutterman How can the kids tell the difference until Democratic Govts all around the world put up strict rules, laws and policies in place for the ones spreading fake news online and offline? I seriously think FBI and Cybercrime squads (etc) should do something bout it and asap.

@Vivaci In this day and age, it's very, very difficult to completely shut-off the flow of information from every source. Some people in Russia, particularly younger ones, are able to find out what's really happening in Ukraine through non-government-controlled outlets. It's getting harder to do that, though.

It's so horrible. It's gotta end soon, but I fear it won't. 😞

@Rutterman True! We should have a branch of UN (like the Interpol) that catches these ‘fake news’ criminals ….it’s by far the most damaging and widespread crime there is!

America is blessed coz trumpet isn’t in power these days…or else one can only imagine the games putin would play with his pawn ♟ 😑

It seems putin wants to hold talks with Zelinsky…so all hope isn’t lost.
