Everytime I listen to this song it makes me think about my relationship with my father. He cheated on my mum when I was 6, didn't stop seeing us, had dinner with us three nights a week but we were always more of a nuisance, a responsibility he didn't want anymore. There was never any question of whether we wanted to live with him, he didn't want that, he wanted his new life without kids underfoot.
I'm 38 now but still it upsets and angers me. Sure I wouldn't want him to be unhappy, but it would have been nice to have felt loved by him, been something he would fight to come home for.
