What causes goosebumps when listening to music?

Is it because of the beat? The lyrics?

[@16806,cherokeepatti] It's amazing music is universal. Despite we speak different language, when it comes music it feels the connection understand the person/singers are trying to potray.

[@580819,iamelijah] I was listening to Frenchie Davis sing a song once and got a very powerful case of goosebumps. Something in her voice.
I think it's just something in the music or words that goes after the emotions. I love it even though sometimes it's not always the most positive emotion I'm taking from it.

Some music just transcends and goes beyond mere listening. It becomes an all-encompassing mental and spiritual experience

One track that always does is the Journey song, 'Stone In Love' from 'Escape' (81)

The main bulk of the song is a simple guitar riff based little solo...then there's a big backing vocal into the breakdown....and then, slowly at first, a huge guitar solo which is all melody...

It's that bit. Serious 'Hairs on the back of my neck'...

I feel like that scene from Saving Private Ryan shows the power of music.
