Listen to Jane's Addiction. The first 3 albums. Nothing's Shocking, Ritual De Lo Habitual and Strays. They have a cult following but have never had much mainstream success.

Recommended songs:

Ocean Size
Mountain Song
Idiots Rule
Pigs In Zen
Ted Just Admit It
Stop
Three Days
True Nature
The Riches
Just Because

Then listen to the first three Oasis albums. Definitely Maybe, What's The Story? Morning Glory and Be Here Now. They also have a cult following but people don't usually listen past "Wonderwall".

Recommended songs:

Rock N Roll Star
Live Forever
Supersonic
Slide Away
Cast No Shadow
Morning Glory
Hey Now
Some Might Say
D'You Know What I Mean
Stand By Me
The Girl In the Dirty Shirt
Don't Go Away

Listen to Frank Ocean. He only has a few albums. Listen to them all. But here are my recommendations:

Sweet Life
Super Rich Kids
Lost
Pink Matter
Nikes
Pink + White
Solo

If you like R&B with a little Rap listen to Lauryn Hill. She only has one album but it's a classic. Here are my recommendations:

Lost Ones
Doo Wop
Final Hour
Forgive Them Father
Ex Factor

Listen to John Frusciante's album Shadows Collide With People. But only if you have an open mind. Recommendations:

Carvel
Ricky
This Cold
Song To Sing When I'm Lonely
Cut Out

If you are into long trippy songs listen to The Mars Volta. I can't recommend songs here because I never remember the names as the band does A LOT of drugs and therefore doesn't make much sense lyric wise. But instrumentally they are Gods. If you like Bad ass guitar solos and a fusion of Latin funk and metal.

Listen to Velvet Revolver. If you like Slash. It's his other most famous band. Completely different sound but just as great.

Recommendations:

Sucker Train Blues
Slither

Listen to the band WAR. Again not amazingly popular. But a terrific band from the 70s.

Recommendations:

Slipping Into Darkness
The World Is A Ghetto
Why Can't We Be Friends?
Spill The Wine

Listen to Funkadelic. They are the #1 funk band. Taking inspiration from Jimi Hendrix mostly.

Recommendations:

Cosmic Slop
Good To Your Ear Hole
Get Off Your Ass and Jam
The Song is Familiar
Maggot Brain
Super Stupid
Red Hot Mama
Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On

What flavor/genre are they? Jw
alterlife · 26-30, F
They're classed as post-hardcore but they're practically spoken word set to music, I recommend listening through Wildlife.
