I posted this elsewhere as a comment but I thought it deserved a post of its own. A major reason I always admired Charlie Watts, the late drummer of the Rolling Stones, is that (offstage) he always dressed elegantly in the Savile Row style I admire. Instead of saying R.I.P., I raise a toast to a live well lived.

I recently learned, seeing a news item about some books from his collection being sold at auction, that he was also a collector of fine books, another thing we have in common.
