Monkees don't get enough love for their efforts. Like they did sing on their tracks and they could play the instruments but the corporates said they weren't allowed to. Did they write most of their songs? No, but how many people do these days? Haha

@Qwerty14 They wrote a lot of their own stuff, played a lot of their own instruments. Who cares if they had help some times? Who played the piccolo trumpet solo on "Penny Lane?" Not John, Paul, George or Ringo. Who played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps?" Eric Clapton. Hey, the Beatles didn't play their own instruments! The Monkees should have been inducted into the RRHoF when all four were still alive but that opportunity has foolishly been squandered.

Yeah and I can still remember the Monkees TV series on over summer holidays. Amazing to think their lead singer started is career in showbiz as a small part in Coronation Street lol.
