Written by Stephen Stills, “For What It’s Worth” has often been misinterpreted as an anti-war song. In fact, Stills wrote the Buffalo Springfield hit in response to the Sunset Strip curfew riots of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Hence the lyrics “There’s battle lines being drawn/Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong.”
