Why does George Harrison pronounce "Bangladesh" as "Bongladesh"?

@MySecretIdentity1 Are you talking about that "Paul is dead" hoax? They said the impostor wrote the fluffy Wings hits like "Silly Love Songs" and "Mull Of Kintyre" but couldn't come up with a classic of the "Yesterday" or "Eleanor Rigby" calibre. However, they forgot that "Penny Lane", "Hey Jude", "Let It Be" and "The Long And Winding Road" (four classics of that calibre) were all written and recorded after Paul's alleged "death". Why didn't they explain that?

@NankerPhelge They whole thing was ridiculous. But, my father grew up fascinated about the so-called clues. I wonder if it was a bigger deal here than there?

By the way, I was only four years old when Macca was allegedly killed in a car crash. I read about it in 1982, by which time I was 20.

@NankerPhelge Yes I heard that the story didn't start until later on. Some disc jockey came up with it, from what my father says. He is 65.

@MySecretIdentity1 He's older than me, I'll be 58 very soon.

Apparently the DJ received a phone call about it in 1969, when "Abbey Road" was a new album. But it was supposed to have happened in 1966, making "Revolver" the last album to feature the real Paul McCartney. I think not.

@NankerPhelge Yes. I agree. It seemed a little like a record executives publicity stunt that I doubt the band liked.

@MySecretIdentity1 So what was the real reason for all those "clues" on the record covers and in song lyrics?

@NankerPhelge I'm really not sure. It is interesting to look at, and record sales in the U.S. went up after the story got around. If it was a marketing ploy, it was very well planned.

@MySecretIdentity1 Did the sales ever go down in the US? I thought the Beatles were still on top in both the US and UK at that time.

@NankerPhelge They didn't go down, but there was an up tick. People, for the most part, shared records. With this, everyone had to own there own.

Their music still cost more than most current popular music.

@NankerPhelge He is a conspiracy theory enthusiast. So he believes the whole thing. When that "documentary" came out, he felt so justified.

@NankerPhelge What do you think I about the "clues"? Like "I buried Paul" vs. "Cranberry sauce" or the pictures on Sgt. Pepper's?

@MySecretIdentity1 I don't think it's "I buried Paul" on "Strawberry Fields". As for the Sgt. Pepper cover, that's a different pair of socks altogether. It's rife with tantalising clues which some of my friends said the Beatles themselves put there.
