Why does George Harrison pronounce "Bangladesh" as "Bongladesh"?

Pronouncing an "a" like an "o" isn't usually typical of the Liverpool accent.

that’s how it’s pronounced by bangladeshis though so he’s doing it right and we’re doing it wrong 😅

@adorbz So how do Bangladeshis say "Liverpool"?
MySecretIdentity1 · 46-50, M
@NankerPhelge I imagine quite poorly.

@MySecretIdentity1 How would you represent it using English phonetics?

@MySecretIdentity1 That's not bad for someone from a foreign country whose first language is highly unlikely to be English.

@NankerPhelge Was I close? Growing up, my best friends were Londoners and their father had a Cockney accent.

@MySecretIdentity1 Londoners don't even say "London" like the rest of us do. They say "Landon". Lol :)

@NankerPhelge My friends had hybrid accents. Their mother lived half of her life in Australia. So they had a kid of US, UK, and Australia.
