What is your favourite song for Halloween?

This one is mine.

It was a seasonal hit too, it got to number 2 in the Halloween week of 1971. Only Rod Stewart stopped it from being number one.

@NosmoKing A lot of his music is on YouTube -- I remember listening to him back in grade school

@NosmoKing I don't have any of his music in my collection, but I do go to Youtube occasionally to listen to him. Usually when I'm reliving my childhood. LOL

@NosmoKing That didn't bother me -- I was a Stones and Dave Clark kid. ;) Plus I go back a decade farther than you. ;)

@NosmoKing Nope, don't remember it at all. Where was it a hit?

@NosmoKing They did really well here, just not with that song. Over and over, Because, Bits and Pieces, Catch Us If You Can, Can;t You See That She's Mine, Glad All Over, I Like It Like That, and You Got What It Takes were all Top 10 Hits according to Billboard's list. But no sign of Red Balloon on the list I found.

@NosmoKing DC5 actually outsold the Beatles for at least one year. I recently saw a short documentary on why it was so hard for decades to get DC5 material -- Clark himself was a head of his time, kept the rights to all songs, recordings, sheet music, etc. and refused to license the release of the songs until the past few years. So, the only way to find the music was to locate the old vinyl.

@NosmoKing Because, in my opinion at least, it's not a very good song.

@NosmoKing Ah well, that's how it sounds to me -- just bland. But I guess most of America agree, since it didn't make the charts here, according to the Billboard list I saw.
