The problem with finding a “look-alike” would be that he would also need to be left-handed, play multiple instruments and be a talented songwriter....the odds against that would have been astronomical. It was a brilliant publicity stunt, carried across a couple of albums.

@DragonFruit I don't think the Beatles needed the publicity,it wa a guy writing a "thesis" and a Detroit DJ who did this..Lennon called the latter really pissed at the whole thing
