The greatest drummer ever died today, does anyone know what a genius Ginger Baker was?

DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Yes....and this reminds me of a story about Ginger Baker in his youth.
He had lined up a bunch of jars, cans and pots in the kitchen, and was tapping out rhythms on them.
A family friend asked his mother “Madam, did you realize that your son is a genius?”.
She replied “I wish he was more of a genius about cleaning his room.”.

She might not have been impressed, but most who had the pleasure of hearing him play (as I did at a Cream concert) can appreciate the genius that was Ginger Baker (RIP).

@DragonFruit Reminds me of a story about John Lennon. He was raised by his aunt and when he made it big, he bought her a very nice country home. He had a tile setted spell out a few words of wisdom she had repeated often in his early teen. Above the fireplace were written her words to him;

"Music is a Fine Thing John But You'll Never Make a Living From It"

Was he taken to the Cream-atorium?
Yeah. He was sick. But Neil.

Neil was great, Ginger was incomparably better @DrawntoaDistance
