What is his "Finest Hour", best record, i guess i mean, or what work of his is YOUR favorite? Elaborate if you like, i love discussing and debating all his works!! ["Holy Diver" is NOT my favorite solo Dio record, but is widely considered the best of that collection]
I put the poll in that order, as that is my ranking of the bands he's been involved in....

They featured an outdoor concert July 4 1978. Rare Earth, The Outlaws, Dixie dregs and others were there.
I recall “long live rock and roll” and “mistreated”. I actually have a few posts recalling it.

@Pfuzylogic I'd only ever had the first Rainbow record till about 5 years ago, i thought it was the only one, then i got the tribute with the Metallica mashup, BLEW MY MIND,, immediately ordered the others online, Rising is just AMAZING

They did fire up the crowd.
I was a bit over the edge with some Mr. Natural at the time, almost drowned.
The foolishness of youth!

@Pfuzylogic indeed, but to have such memories of great bands; i asked my Dad one time, about some of the older bands I'd gotten into, but he didn't pay attention to it back then; i saw what became Dio's last show in New Jersey, Atlantic City,, wish i could have seen the Rainbow years and also the Heaven and Hell/Mob Rules era....

I loved deep purple and did relish this performance. It was equal to others like Led Zeppelin in 77 and Blue Oyster Cult in their first laser performance during their “Agents of fortune” tour.

@Pfuzylogic indeed! i Always kinda wished I'd been my Dad's age, he was that perfect spot where i could've seen all the old bands that have become my favorite in their prime,, i'm not huge on the Beatles, really like the Stones, 60's etc,, but the 70's,, id have loved to be mid 20's age at that time

I was 15 in 1974 and the very first band I saw was Rush playing “Working Man” in the Cincinnati Gardens. Smoke covered the ceilings when the lights came on. It was another world.
