The Best Ever?

Colin Wilkinson singing MAN FROM LA MANCHA. My God ...if this does not make you want to pick up a sword and go on Crusade, nothing will!

Listen also to his Phantom of the Opera...again the best!

Hope you enjoy ... or ELSE!

I love Colm Wilkinson! He was also the original Jean ValJean in Les Miserables.

@MrsKatherineArch YES! Not my favorite musical but anything he does I will happily listen to...if you have not heard Colin Wilikinson as the Phantom please, please do...it is the Canadian stage version of the musical. Such power God it makes you cry.

But what about THIS version of La Mnacha?! Whenever I hear it is like my heart becomes too big for my body! And I owe my discovery of Colin Wilkinson to the BBC World Service.

I actually got to see Colm Wilkinson a few years ago, and it was so amazing. @Abrienda

@MrsKatherineArch Wow...never had that pleasure but would sure like to...I had the radio on to a BBC program playing a variety of music and left for a n=moment and caught this piece just as it came on. I could not believe it...I was literally dancing around the flat to it it was so moving...then at the end I waited and ...nothing. No information on who it was...but I it could only have been the man I had signing Phantom of the Opera....and sure when I searched ebay there he was...Colin Wilkinson Stage Heroes - Man From La Mancha. Aieeee!!!!!! That was IT!

Now I had read Don Quixote in Spanish some years earlier but really I was too immature to appreciate it so decided to try again...this time everything my father had tried to teach me about the book finally was clear. As for Cervantes he was areal life Don Quixote....he lost hand at the great Battle of Lepanto where the Spanish, Italians and Crusader from Malta defeated the Turkish navy once and for all...so I got a book on Lepanto and listened t this CD...great experience!

I loved Don Quixote! @Abrienda

@MrsKatherineArch Me too...did you Cervantes lost a hand in that great battle with the Turks?
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
I had no idea @Abrienda

@MrsKatherineArch Yes and that puts a different take on Don Quixote, second rate teachers and those who never read the book always say it is Cervantes mocking chivalry and knightly valour...I think no, he is playing his readers. Yes...in the world of his time only a madman would wish to be a knight...and how tragic is that! The last pages in the book confirm this when Sancho Panza begs him not to die because then the world will be lost...the fool who speaks the truth!
