Nine Inch Nails

Maybe I'm odd, maybe I'm not. I do like when I grew up angst was considered normal, while maybe not healthy but considered an artistic avenue to explore in growing up. I do feel people much too pressure on being healthy, positive, suppressing emotions often felt. Myself I'd rather encourage people express how they feel, it might come with taking reflection on how they feel, which to me this song actually displays. I have no want for you to go into a melodramatic nihilistic rage, but there is a difference when culture is okay when you do.

@DarkSideoftheMoon I'm sure I've had a few... I'm the quiet sort, please don't read that to mean I have any capacity to kill anyone. I do think you know what my post was about of culture and times. I didn't know it then, but there was a health in being able to express anger.
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User yea i was around during that era. I think its good to let out some steam before you explode. Listening to music that touhes on your dark feelings like depression or anger are ok in my eyes because those are important emotions to address and take care of in order to heal and move past stuff. When im happy i like happy music and when im sad i like sad music and angry i like angry music. It helps release those feelings.

@DarkSideoftheMoon Happy you have that avenue. Music has always been a large part of me. I'm often a calm person, sometimes melodramatic, I know that and most often it's music that helps me not release in expression I feel I may need during that time. Sometimes the release within yourself is more important and something that can't be shared

@DarkSideoftheMoon You were what age though? Do you have older siblings?
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User in the 90s? I was born in 1989 so i was young but i remember a lot of that music. 9 inch nails, korn and disturbed and rob zombie ect ect. In middle school (2000 - 2003) i was huge into those 90s bands and also linkin park and puddle of mudd.

@DarkSideoftheMoon Fair, I got into music young, it's possible you did too :) And you are about to this year turn 30?
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User i turned 30 last month
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon Happy birthday fellow Pisces I'm guessing
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User yesss 😄 thx happy bday to you too
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon How was the turn to 30 for you?
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User not good long story. Maybe i should weite a post about it
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User i took turning 29 harder and lets just say i had one of those nine inch nails mental breakdowns, filed a divorce and was depressed for a year.
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon If you have someone to share it with, then maybe if you can, share that way. I would encourage write something and share, might offer a vestibule of something you don't know how to express or get out.
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon Then we have something in common, but I did it slightly earlier than you at 28 and met someone new at 29. Even with that I took 30 hard
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User holy crap were like clones
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon Maybe if you are following my footsteps from 10 years ago. If so, most of my troubles came after 30 so please don't be a clone!
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User life actually seems much better for me right now. Live alone, moving to a newer apartment in a nicer town, traveling, promotion at work and a 4 dollar raise. Cant complain. Im actually thinking 30s arent so bad. Its just paying for health insurance and credit card payments are hard
SW-User
@DarkSideoftheMoon Great for you. I have something similar going on but I moved about two years ago. I needed a break from my hometown. I also took a promotion at work, helped some with my self esteem, I neglected to think of it that way, Canada doesn't make me pay for health insurance outside of benefits through work, and you can guess an American company which I work for, makes them relatively high in comparison. You outspend what you could afford at one time?
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@SW-User right now i have free insurance because i was low income but now that i got a promotion and pay increase i make too much for the government assistance program for low income individuals to have free health insurance. So through my job i have 2 options. 1. Pay more every paycheck but pay for less in healthcare or 2. Pay less in my paycheck but receive less help.
