@SW-User The original was some obscure Northern Soul tune... one moment... yup, Gloria Jones in 1964. I don't think it even made the charts.

@TheThinker Gloria Jones was a Motown artist at one point as well as the "Northern Queen of Soul". Just saying.🙂

I actually do quite like her version but for me the Soft Cell version just edges it... that may be of course because I was 16 when it came out and I have a lot of memories tied up with it. :-)
