How early would that normally be beforehand?
it's usually in the afternoon. when i was around20 , i got a number of autographs that way. getting backstage is not easy and can get you tossed out.

I went back stage at an alman brother's concert one time..
it was outdoors, I just walked up onto the stage and across to the back and into the door of the cast party, had a drink before I was politely asked if I belonged there.
I said, not really and went out the way I came in....

yea i did when i was in collage but it was not a very famous singer. It was a university concert and we went backstage with a group of friends. just meet the singer and told how much fun we did in the concert thats all :)
