Why the Dire Straits hate?

I'm a DS fan, have been for a long long time. I enjoy the raw guitar sound of Knopfler with both their slow and faster songs.Im not a die hard fan, my favourite band is U2. However the one thing I have noticed is that every female I have spoken to hates DS and their music. Every single one. So my question to the females out there -what is it about DS music that you dislike? I'm very interested to know.

Not every single one. I happen to love them. I grew up with their lps. My dad played them a lot. I never got into them back them. I started playing guitar two years ago and put the albums on. He is an inspiration to me.

He is one of my fave guitarists

I've seen them live and grew up with their music, I don't hate them but can't remember the last time I listened to them either

@Summersrain I can understand that. I used to be like that with an Australian band crowded house. Loved them, then they disbanded in the mid 90s and the stations played them to death..now I can't even listen to one song
