What song, or songs, have you misheard the lyrics to?

When I was a kid and Eddie Money's song "I Think I'm In Love" was playing on the radio, what I heard (or thought I heard) was "I think I'm in love, 'cause I can't get it up." But because I grew up in such a sheltered world, raised in a strict Catholic family, I didn't know what "can't get it up" meant. So I didn't understand what I was hearing at all.

And then there was Pink Floyd's song, "One Of My Turns." For a long time I thought he was saying "Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left you'll find my favorite ex" (meaning an ex-girlfriend that he had chopped up and stuffed into his suitcase). Imagine my relief when I bought the 2-CD set, The Wall, read the song lyrics, and discovered that it was actually his favorite axe, not his favorite ex, that he kept in his suitcase.

I'm not sure if it still sounds like it to me now that I know the words, but for the longest time, I remember thinking Eric Clapton was singing, "I hand her the garbage , and she helps me to bag", instead of the actual line in the third verse of the song, "I hand her the car keys, and she helps me to bed". Makes more sense, eh?

@SW-User Yeah, I can hear that. I didn't think it sounded like that before, but I can see how you could have heard it that way.

I suppose the way you heard it originally almost sounds more practical. Not so romantic, but very practical. :D

@TeresaRudolph71 it would be practically domestic. ;)
