In your opinion who was one of the better blues singers of all time?

I think Stevie Ray Vaughn was phenomenal and of course our Canadian icon Colin James. I went to see him in concert a few years back and he sounded even better live and came back on stage for 3 more standing "Os" with some of his best songs.

Bessie Smith. Billie Holiday, "Mississippi" Fred McDowall, Robert Jordan
@Elandra77 It's really hard to pick just one. Etta James and Nina Simome were quite amazing as well. Thanks for answering, great choices as well.
@sensualbeauty1 I see them more as "torch" singers. Still blues- but a different kind than what traditional blues are. But they did lap over a lot. At times Billie was as well. Lady Day sure could sing.
@Elandra77 There is nothing more wonderful than the sound of a sweet sultry voice. Yes I've heard a little of her music, fantastic voice.
