"The Singing Ranger" From Canada- signed to RCA in 1948 and released this, in Canada in 1949.. It was huge hit in the US in 1950. (same Year as Nat's "Mona Lisa" ) I was a hig Hank Snow fan for year. Us to listen to his 9;30-10:00 performance on the Grand ole Opry on radio, weekly and Sat.night. Sponsored by Acme boots. (no relation to Looney Toons Acme or the grocery store)

Now here is my question for you.

If he is "But they'll never find me 'cause I'm lost in Miller's Cave."

Then how did he get out to make this recording- if he is lost? And if he is most wanted in the state- and by luck got out- why was he not arrested-? (remember there are swamps and everglades there)

@Elandra77 Bobby Bare did a remake of Millers cave , I liked both
@Paschar Yes he did. As a kid I liked his. Now, in my 60's, I find I like Hank's better. As the question I posed(above) was asked by a lot in the early 50's as a gag to others.

This is one of my faves. No cards, no cues, real playing a great solo. Folks back then had talent.

Yup , he had real talent along with Leroy Van Dyke , Another of my Favorites

@Paschar This has me smiling! What great memories. He was very good as well.

We may not be in the Ryman Auditorium- but we seem to have created our own Grand Ol' Opry this Saturday night- right here.

Marty's "A White Sport Coat" seem to be missing though.

As for me- here is Ray Price- one I saw in concert in 1978. I may have been the youngest there - A lot of women older than me were there-and all we wanted to hear were the 1950's hits- Like this one.

Notice a still unknown Roger Miller singing background vocals.

@Peaches Yup he has a few tearjerkers , Who's Gonna fill their shoes is one of them
Peaches · F
@Paschar Yes! Thank you for the music.🎼Goodnight!😌💤
Paschar · 70-79, M
@Peaches 😌💤Well
@Peaches So maybe RCA needs to put out a new compilation."Playboy Hank Snow" ?? Even thought Hank has passed.
Hank Sr and Hank Snow- along with Ray after Hank Sr's death DEFINED what C&W honky Town music WAS in the 1950's!! (Ray was in Hank's band, The singing Cowboys) Ray was the TRUE heir apparent to Hank Sr. (at least in the 1950's)

Cash owned Rockabilly, but Cash was not Honky Tonk

As for George-few cold put out a tearjerker as well as he could.

This was a lot of fun- glad to see it continued after I went to sleep.

@Paschar While on Amazon this PM I saw this in a search.

https://www.amazon.com/Beauty-Final-Sessions-Ray-Price/dp/B010PDLMIK/ref=sr_1_1?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=nav_ya_signin&

Since I have prime I can listen to 75 % of it. And it is beautiful .But it is also a bit eerie, almost haunting- some may say macabre but I do not agree as that was not the intention. I listened through the first three tracks and shut it down- it is a very personal release. Almost private. Intense.

Read the description of it- it is long. (for CD's)

Presented here is a far different man than the one I saw 36 years ago.

@Elandra77 Found it on Youtube for free , Amazon wanted $9.99 to Download it

@Paschar Have you listened to it? It is a beautiful CD- and one well done for one close 90! But there is a hauntingness to it. A "last goodbye" kind of recording.I'll have to listen to all of it on YT. As I only get 9 tracks free.

Thanks.
