I Love the Piano
I live in a triplex, with two tenants directly below my piano. I had just found a beautiful song off the internet, and I wanted to give it a go. It was just after ten, so out of respect I tried to play as quietly as possible. Then, something kinda magical happened.
In the silent and dark room, I started to play. Even with an awkward mistake here and there from my sight reading, it felt like the music was taking me to another place and time. Finally, I reached the end and lifted my hands. The room was silent and dark again, but I felt like I was more alive than I'd been all day.
