Improving at guitar

So I've been playing guitar since I was a kid but never really put any effort into improving once I had learned all of your standard chord formations and some basic fingerpicking patterns. I'm a big fan of fingerstyle acoustic guitar and would love to take my playing to the next level. Any recommendations for online tutorials/books?

i found lots of helpful tutorials on youtube. i've heard from musicians that the best way to learn is to learn other people's songs first.
