Major chords and minor are both pretty important depending on the song. Have you learned any songs or just open chords and scales?

There’s no wrong way or order, necessarily, to learn these things or approach.

Multiple chord shapes up and down the neck, triads are extremely useful, alternating thumb patterns, fingerpicking. Timing, the scales are important but don’t let that define you. Assuming you hold the guitar right handed, your left hand is your address, your right hand is your soul. Modes are an interesting way to find patterns that relate to specific genres, moods.

@Lucywrites I was just thinking, if you want a song that is great for beginning finger picking try Johnny Cash’s version of “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails. It’s one of the easiest finger picking and strum patterns in general and has an absolutely beautiful sound to it. I think you cooked have fun.

I'd say to compliment open chords start using alternate tunings to make the most of them. EG. DADGAD is a good one to play with. Depends on your level really.

I am learning the major first then minor. Theres so much to learn and it depends where you want to start i suppose.
