Soulspace · F
Yamaha Acoustic
MrWhite · 70-79, M
nice, I have a Martin and an Ovation 12 string acoustic.
aqua59 · 61-69, M
@Venuscalling: What year was your Yamaha made?
SW-User
@Venuscalling: I love Yamaha acoustics. I've an LL11 a CPX500 and an FG,12 string. The LL is probably my go to guitar it's the model Bert Jansch used a lot
aqua59 · 61-69, M
@Nunos50: The older Red Label FG 12 strings are a sweet instrument.
SW-User
@aqua59: not quite old enough to be red label but still a good instrument but now only my backup 12 string.
aqua59 · 61-69, M
@Nunos50: Have a '71 Red Label 12 string and a '74 Yamaha acoustic in the house. Heard the quality of the recent Yamahas is not the same as older ones. That is a shame because they are (or used to be) fine instruments.
SW-User
@aqua59: I think they still are my LL is from the 90s and excellent I have played other recent L series and they are terrific

My electrics are a 1988 Fender Telecaster and a 1994? Fender Stratocaster.

@Jackson: I need to write a series of posts on my collection lol I have about 20 at the moment!
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@Nunos50: I've had a lot of guitars over the years and always came back to Fenders. These 2 instruments were the ones that stuck. I play my Tele mostly. I have a borrowed Gibson Les Paul junior that I love. I've had it since February. Nice tone from the P90. I think it's a 2001.
SW-User
@Jackson: I had a Les Paul dobule cut special with two P90s some years ago - in the end though me and P90s don't get on for some reason - one of the few I sold on.

My main id the Les Paul custom
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@Nunos50: I had a 57 LP Junior back in the 70s. It was great, but I didn't know what I had back then and sold it. Youth.

My first good guitar was a 68 LP custom, black. Before that I had junk till someone showed me a real guitar. Customs are my favorite Les Paul.

Mine is a 2007 custom shop one I got for a bargain price in a store in Connecticut when I used to travel there a lot.
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@Nunos50: My last Les Paul Standard was a late 90s. I bought it for under 1K and sold it for the same. Now I can't believe the prices.
The best LP I had was an early 70s that had a multi piece body. Not a popular vintage, but it was by far the best LP I ever had. I got the 74 with Dimarzio SD's in it but I had a pair of 68 Gibson pups and put them in. Great match. I had them from an old 335 and they sounded terrible, but in the LP they were perfect.

@Nunos50: I put picture of my electrics on my profile.

@Jackson: what pickups in the tele? They look like the Danny Gatton ones
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@Nunos50: Yes, they're Joe Barden. I got them right after I bought the Tele in 1988. Back then I called Joe Barden and he made them for me. I had just heard of Danny Gatton in 1986 and read an article in Guitar Player where he talked about them. I got the neck first and one night playing I called him right back and got the bridge.

@Nunos50 and Jackson: Either of you tried the Taylor T5?
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@aqua59: No. I just googled it. Looks like an interesting guitar. I've never owned a Taylor. It looks great in black. Are you looking to buy?
MrWhite · 70-79, M
@aqua59: I like that it has Magnetic and Piezo pickups.
aqua59 · 61-69, M
@Jackson: Nope. Out of my league. I am not the guitar player in the family. If you ever have a chance to attend one of the Taylor Road Shows in your area, you should go.
