Guitar lesson

My guitar tutor gave me my weekly lesson this morning and the tab he developed just doesn't sound right to me. He doesn't know the song so is coming at it cold whereas I've been listening to the song since Christmas 1979 when I got the album.

He taught me a riff last week which didn't sound quite right and I took his version, worked out the correct way and showed it to him this morning.

I don't want to undermine him so I've decided to use his lessons as a starting point and work out things from there if they don't sound quite right in future.

You obviously have a good musical ear - probably better than your tutor's - so trust your musical instincts. So many so-called musicians play the wrong underlying chords or notes - it drives me up the wall! I've actually taught one or two professionals a thing or two! The best thing as a beginner is to play along with songs etc. that you like, keeping it simple at first.🎵🎶
