Always The Teacher, I Guess.

It was our daughter's 7th birthday back in early June last year and, from the year before she'd always talk about wanting a guitar, so we got her her first electric guitar and amp for a combination birthday and xmas present.

So, in January we hatched a plan for me to get a guitar and to learn a little bit so that I could teach her! Which is what we eventually did.

But, christ, the devious sneaking around downstairs after she went to bed and quietly having guitar lessons? I had to be very sneaky. Nearly caught out a time or two.

Cue her birthday when we produced her guitar and amp....she was screaming away...and then when I asked her if she wanted some lessons, to which she nodded, and then saw me picking up my guitar.....priceless!

I got the Yamaha Pacifica...she got the Ibanez Steve Vai JEM Jnr.

She's streets ahead of me now....

Good to see a child excited about something and committing to it. Forever the teacher, I guess.

Love this. Kudos to you for your late nights.
Glad to hear she still loves it and is progressing.

@Teslin Thank you! It was hard to keep quiet! Thank goodness for headphones!

Yes, she loves music. Music that's a bit more, shall we say, challenging for children of her age. It's a relief really. Like, the future of music is safe in her hands...

No pressure, Hope! Lol!
