The more i preponderate, and with some help from a funny review on Moulin Rouge which totally demolishes it, i must choose Chicago as THEE musical from the last 20 years. Before that was All That Jazz in the 70's, which Chicago rightfully cites right...

Moulin Rouge. Chicago is utter boredom. All that Jazz is miles ahead of any of them anyway.
For me the musical from the last 20 years is Resnais' On connait la chanson.

Been meaning to see some more Resnais ... the French do musicals better, like Demy for example ...:)
