is this another one of those millennial things?
LyricalOne · F
Is it really? Maybe I shouldn't know. 😥
NorthernRoses · 26-30, F
@LyricalOne Haha maybe you shouldn't.
I won't say much about it, but I found this video that talks about it while also giving an okay visual on the issue. In case you get curious.

Name one truly original concept that Disney has based a film upon.
NorthernRoses · 26-30, F
@wuiop2 Sure, but the Lion King was specifically advertised as "Disney's first truly original film"...
wuiop2 · 41-45
@NorthernRoses Oh, I remember that. That's why I call it the "Lion Hamlet." :D
My comment wasn't meant as an attack. Thank you for not taking it as such. :)

it's an archetype repeated through human history
NorthernRoses · 26-30, F
@SW-User At parts it's just a step away from frame-by-frame, my dude. That has nothing to do with archetypes.
If we were talking Hamlet vs Lion King, we'd be talking archetypes.

@NorthernRoses from what?
NorthernRoses · 26-30, F
@SW-User "Kimba the White Lion" from 1965. You can even see in earlier statements and interviews that Simba's name was originally planned to be Kimba, but it was changed mid- to early production.
