I have an awkward funeral to go to.

It’s an uncle (not close but close enough i should go for my cousins) and I can’t describe the level of drama in my side of the family right now since our own mom passed away last year. On a scale of 1-10 it’s 15 and possibly could cause a scene not gonna lie. It’s really really bad. My family will likely be there with this one helluva big “elephant” in the room.

Kind of stressed about it all. Anyone been through the same?

[@336516,MartinTheFirst] elephant chat? i get the connection but what is that?

[@778935,HouseOfCards] when you need to talk you remove the opaque cover and reveal the elephant in the room. When people see this elephant they'll know you need to talk. Only 59.99$

When my father passed away we held the "wake" at a restaurant out of town to avoid drama.
And the restaurant still had to get their bouncer and hostess to make sure this person didn't get in and that person didn't sit at the wrong table.

'Cause funerals aren't already stressful enough, right? LOL

I'm sorry for your loss; try not to worry about something you probably won't have any control over any way 🤗

I don't understand... If there are such hard feelings between the, mmm, "factions", why show up in the first place...? I thought that funerals were a time to make amends, but if that's not possible, I would not show up... And, if I needed/wanted to go to the funeral to support specific people, OK, I would go, and I would just not interact with the "offending party"... I don't get why anyone would go to a funeral to pick up a fight or something... (I really don't know the details of your situation, but you don't really explain much either...)

[@542387,drymer] Well i have nothing against the deceased or their kids who are hosting. I expect it to be a small funeral, and it’s my own family that will be there. There’s a lot of hard feelings cause lawyers are involved now and it’s turned into a legal matter with personal ramifications. No amends will be made.

Not to mention the hosting fam has no idea whats going on and they may say the wrong thing and put their foot in their mouth or worse, trigger innocently trigger the wrong nerve. They expect that we are all getting along like usual.
