Two Horrific Murders In Oklahoma In Two Days...

Yesterday it was a couple found with two children and today in another area of Oklahoma a man shot 7 people, 5 of them children, one man dead & a woman in the hospital. The police have caught the man suspected to be responsible for that one. 7 children killed within 24 hours

That’s what happens with allowing virtually unrestricted gun ownership☹️

@Entwistle keep spinning

@cherokeepatti I don't know what you mean by that.
@cherokeepatti Yes of course if someone is hell bent on murdering someone it’s highly likely they’ll find a way but it’s plain and obvious that, all other things being equal, with guns instead of knives you can kill a lot more people, more quickly, with far less likelihood of them surviving your attack and from a far greater range.

I’m guessing the media isn’t talking about this because it wasn’t a white male that did it.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@BlueRain It is sad and I have no idea if it had something to do with a couple breaking up or financial problems where the family couldn’t be taken care of or what. Not much has come out in the news yet about it. I know there are a lot of families stressed to the breaking point all over the country and the suicide rates were way up last year.

@cherokeepatti You are very right

@BlueRain The domestic violence rate doubled in 2020 over the previous year.

If that was Chicago, there would be cheering for the low murder numbers during that time frame.

@TexChik I remember as a child hearing several times around Christmas about an entire family being killed by the father because he didn’t have money to buy Christmas gifts for the family. They started a Christmas store here in my city back then to help prevent that. I am wondering if this is the same type of thinking with some people feeling they won’t be able to provide for their families if they are laid off or whatever and they just take everyone out. Like they’ve lost all hope for their futures.

@cherokeepatti that would be extreme , however when I was 6 my biologic father broke my left arm with a baseball bat because I dared to ask why santa never came to our house . 🤷🏻‍♀️

@TexChik so many on drugs these days we never know what they’ll do. Glad we kept this boy and his sister out of that mess with his parents. It would have been a nightmare for both of them. I don’t think anything has changed for the better with the boy’s parents, always something legal going on with them and many times warrants out for them

That's a whole lot of evil in a short space of time.

a white cop shoots a black hoodrat, it's national news, black lives matter riots...

blacks mow each other down on a daily basis in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, etc., no one cares, black lives splatter...
carpediem · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 sad but true. It's not about black lives. It's about extorting $$

That is normal in the world we live in nowadays violence is as normal in society now as going to a grocery store
Mindful · 56-60, F
Please, Let’s not call it normal. That there are consequences because people aren’t communicating or made poor decisions?, but let’s not call it normal.@ExperienceDLT
@Mindful seems like its normal to those doing it every time you turn.on the news someone else has been murdered
Mindful · 56-60, F
@ExperienceDLT I have to call it statistical, and something that draws the media’s attention . I’m not sure why the negative news is a preferred topic to positive news.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
That is truly awful and so needless. Do they know motives yet, at least for the second case?
