Who Knew Reaching A Deal With Iran Is Complicated?

Trump a few weeks ago: a deal with Iran is imminent.

Trump today: this is very complicated and I don't know what they're thinking.

He cancelled the deal 8 years ago. He now wants to go back to the same deal. Meanwhile Iran says: why should we?

I'm not a fan of Iran, but their pursuit of the bomb is entirely rational. As such, the US would need to create an incentive structure for Iran to agree to a deal. If only a President could have thought of that.

Complicated. Yet somehow President Obama managed, and they were abiding by it. Trump was the one who scuttled it in his first disastrous administration. 🙄

@catastrophecarnival Sure, he does! First, you remove your leverage, then you complain when the other side won't make a deal.

He does have significant leverage with China, but he has no idea what he wants.
