Does anyone think that Netanyahu will really listen? Especially to a former political rival, former PM Ehud Olmert?

It seems unlikely that Netanyahu will heed the advice of Ehud Olmert, as their political rivalry and differing views on governance create a significant divide. Olmert has been vocal in criticizing Netanyahu's government, but the current political climate suggests that Netanyahu may prioritize his own agenda over external counsel.

I was an initial supporter of Israeli's war efforts, but the lack of humanitarian aid, use of Palestinian human shields, and the recent ground incursion/ ghettoizing has changed my mind. It seems around Trump's election things have gotten worse.

@Fukfacewillie
I supported the initial response. Any sitting Prime Minister, had one job only: stop the rockets, at any price.
It has now turned into a war of revenge against a civilian population, coupled with a PR campaign, to de-humanize them and label them as terrorists.
The IDF accounts, always refers to "terrorists" when it comes to Palestinian casualties.
No single questionable incident has been investigated, beyond the boilerplate "the IDF is looking into it". The one incident that strikes as endemic of the IDF behavior, is the Al-Jazeera journalist, who was killed, and the the IDF attacked her pallbearers, nearly causing her coffin to fall as it was headed toward a Church in Jerusalem for burial.
They did it in front of the international press, as if to see: we can do whatever we want.
Multiple US sources investigated, and found the IDF killed a journalist in cold blood. No one can punished for it.
Some friends and family in Israel are no longer on speaking terms with me, but enough is enough.
Last week, the IDF told the residents of a Gaza neighborhood their neighborhood is sage. Two doctors, husband and wife, went to work at a hospital. The IDF attacked their home. 9 out of their 10 kids, ages 2 to 12, got mangled in the attack. One survived, but may not be looking at growing up healthy.
I'm conditioned to think "were they pumping out one kid per year, and they're both doctors, what about the uneducated", but then I erased that thought and thought of them as humans, a couple who lost 9 of their children.
I also thought that this is the kind of "conditioning" that will spawn another Hamas, if this one of militarily defeated.
We need to have our heads examined and we need to have our voices heard.
Trumps doesn't give a shit, but he thinks he's doing the Widow Adelson's bidding, along with his Messianic backers, and beside, he's going to build condos there. Another ill conceived plan.
The IDF is still investigating the Khan Younis 9 mutilated kids incident.

@Northwest All very well put and tragic. Did you read Friedman's column today? Basically, the "Greater Israel" religious lunatic right is calling the shots and Netanyahu is doing their bidding for his own political future. I was even okay with loosening the rules of engagement, but there are just too many examples of war crimes. It's not an aberration, it couldn't be.
