Trump Appointed Steve Witkoff As His Middle East Envoy

Witkoff has zero experience as a diplomat. His first job was working for a real estate law shop and Trump was one of his clients.

Witkoff will have the role Trump's son-in-law had during Trump's first term.

Jared Kushner viewed the situation as a real estate deal, and he failed miserably.

Looks like Trump, with this appointment, is going to try the same thing: resolve the issue through real estate, and excluding Palestinians.

Good luck with that. This is not making Israel any safer and is not making the world any safer.

To be a Trump appointment you need two qualifications: To be a sycophant and a terrible human being.

In a sense, this is not all a bad thing. If they want to pass project 2025, then they need effective administrators and savvy backroom operators. An administration of celebrity internet trolls is going to struggle to carry that off.

Wikhoff clearly expressed his loyalty to El Guapo.

The ability to make a deal won’t matter to Trump. It never has in the past. Nothing matters when you are an isolationist.
Definitely not the best and brightest. Still I think George W. Bush has him beat. Appointing a horse show organizer to be the first head of DHS.
