U.S. gives Ukraine weapons it seized from Iran and Houthis

Last Thursday, the U.S. transferred more than 5,000 AK-47 machine guns, sniper rifles, RPG-7s and over 500,000 rounds of ammunition to the Ukrainian armed forces, according to U.S. Central Command.
The munitions were originally seized by CENTCOM from ships that were transferring them from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to Yemen's Houthis, between May 2021 and February 2023.
