I am Loving Bahrain.
I have been in Bahrain just over a week now and I am loving it. Of course, it is a holiday with some Indian Maid test driving going on. But what a place. I was not too sure what to expect coming to the Middle East, but Bharain is really great. Half the population are ex-pats from mostly The Indian sub-continental region and the Philippines, and they are mostly Filipinas that I have come across so far. They are in a different country, alone usually, lonely, and broke as they are sending money back to their families at home. Not that I have laid any yet, but have flirted with some gotten some good feedback hahaah They would be easy to bed I am sure.
The weather here is hot but not unpleasantly so. I often go out and walk around the city during the day as my test driving is mostly done in the evenings and she does have to do house work as one of her duties.. Water and a wide brimmed hat are a must but that is about it. I do find a get some funny looks though. I put it down to not seeing a Westerner strolling the streets alone hahahaha.
I seriously think that I could stay here for an extended period of time. It would be a great place to live. Stable, polite (except for the traffic) friendly ex-pats everywhere (I rarely see a full-on Bahraini. Additionally, the fact that it is an easy hop, skip and a jump to Europe. Which for and Antipodean such as my self is an awesome novelty and bonus.
Yes, I think I could live here.
